This is a great inspiration! You must continue the effort to support positive character, every day! That is the message behind creating your Subject Matter Expertise. Create your plan and stick to it.
This plan should involve honors and awards. Not just any honor/award, but the honors and awards that you achieve. How do you do this? Seek out the possibility for recognition in your industry. These awards exist! You can win them. They really help elevate your status.
You should also build your Subject Matter Expertise by creating your own blog, vlog, or podcast! This is the “easiest” way to benefit from your continued effort. I put easiest in italics because… it’s not easy. You work on content… every day… so it takes time. The reason I say easiest is because you are in total control of your message. You decide what it is you are going to say! This allows you to control what people find and more important what they associate with YOU.
This helps to support our inspiration for today… using two simple techniques, honors and blogging. Two very important techniques to start utilizing, now. The goal is to control your corner of the web in an effort to build credibility. Credibility is made up of your character. Your character is discovered by what other people recognize in you… that means your recognition of peers or followers.
That brings us full circle to honors and blogging.
Here’s your goal for today (haha – there are two).
Research honors and awards that are in your industry… then set a goal. Which one are you going to apply for? What do you need to do between now and the application? By the end of today, have one goal to apply for an award and make the plan to make this happen!
Our Family Business was just recognized as National Marina of the Year. It’s a fantastic honor, but the application was a lot of work. However, while the recognition is fantastic, we are able to use the words “Award Winning” which does build social proof. Just something to think about!
Next…
Come up with the ten best things about your business. These can be anything you want! Just if I sat down and interviewed you… what would you answer are the 10 best things about your business? Write them down. These are your first ten topics for your blog. Now, I would love it if you’d make a formal blog… but if this helps focus you for posts on Facebook… that’s OK too. I just want you to get into the habit of controlling your message.
So there you have it. Awards and blogging. Start here and you’ll start enhancing your online credibility and that will be the foundation for your Subject Matter Expert stats.
